A born and raised Jersey girl, Daryn Strauss grew up amongst a household of musicians. As a teen, she performed with the New Jersey Ballet Company and sang with Barry Manilow and Jose Carreras at Radio City Music Hall. She has been the lead or co-star in the indie features Waiting in Woodsbury and Tech Room, several shorts including White Rabbit, which was a Top 10 film at the Asian American Film Lab in 2009 and also nominated for Best Direction and Best Editing. Daryn earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism magna cum laude from Montclair State University. A writer since childhood, she studied screenwriting at UCLA and has written several screenplays which have been workshopped in New York City. She is drawn to quirky character-driven films by writer-directors. "Downsized" is her first foray as a producer combining directing, writing and acting.

A graduate of the William Esper Studio, Duncan Murdoch is a founding member of the improv troupe FACE (www.faceimprov.com) which performs in New York City at the PIT and was a NY Fringe 08 selection. He has also performed in the improv troupe No Filter at the Toronto International Improv Festival, The Stanley Project at the Providence RI Improv Festival and Evilese! Sketch at the New York Underground Comedy Festival. His independent film credits include Ice Queen, Duck.Love., and Waiting in Woodsbury. He has also appeared in the television shows Forensic Files for Court TV and Go Ahead, Make My Dinner for the Discovery Channel.

Michele Mavissakalian is a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre 2 year conservatory program in NYC. Upon graduating she worked in theatre, independent film, and commercials in NYC and in LA. Michele is also a writer. She recently had a screenplay optioned by Capstone Entertainment Group and is about to go into a production for a short she co-wrote for French film company Libero Films. She is currently working on a feature for Devi Entertainment and continuing to write and develop her other projects. She was also recently cast in Downcity currently in preproduction with Gary Oldman and Terrence Howard.

A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Chris Henry Coffey can be seen in the upcoming film Trust (Clive Owen), as well as the films The International (Clive Owen), Thirteen Days (Kevin Costner), and Play It By Ear, Walking on the Sky, and June among many independents. Selected television appearances include guest appearances on Cupid and Law and Order and recurring roles on Law and Order: Criminal Intent and Guiding Light.
Additionally, he has been seen on some of the most respected theaters across the county including, most recently, the Huntington Theater, Boston in How Shakespeare Won the West, and at Playwrights Horizons, NYC and the Goodman Theater, Chicago in Frank's Home, directed by Robert Falls, and written by Richard Nelson. At the Old Globe in San Diego, he worked with Arthur Miller in his penultimate play Resurrection Blues in the role of Skip L. Cheeseboro. Other selected stage experience include the role of Hildy Johnson of The Front Page at the Long Wharf, New Haven; Dennis McCleary in The Violet Hour and Tesman in Hedda Gabler at the Dallas Theater Center; Rodolpho in A View from the Bridge and Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Alley Theatre, Houston; and Claudio in Measure for Measure at the Yale Repertory Theater.

Shannon divides her time between studio, stage, & screen, having recently appeared on the season premier of Law & Order: SVU as the “Crystal Meth Mom”, in the short film FUGUE (directed by Kaz Phillips) as “Gail”, the A.A. sponsor to the main character, plus film short “White Rabbit” (not to mention her all time fave character, the irrepressible “Astrid” of DOWNSIZED!)
She appears regularly on NYC stages in a variety of Rock Musicals including HAIR, Fallen Angel, Once Around The Sun, & most recently as “Lizzie” in Lizzie Borden.
When she’s not on the road rocking the mic as the lead singer of LEZ ZEPPELIN: All GIRL All ZEPPELIN Tribute band (www.LEZZEPPELIN.com), she can be seen around the NYC area as half of acoustic rock duo “The So & Sos” w/ Lance Doss & sitting in with local faves “AM Preacher & the RockaBurli~Q Floorshow”.

Most recently, he played Macbeth in the PanAsian Rep's production of Macbeth. His film and television appearances include the film Fair Game with Naomi Watts, Law and Order, and Cosby. A talented director, he founded Imua! Theatre and Film Company in 1994, and has produced and directed acclaimed shows The Greeks, Balm in Gilead, and Julius Caesar. In 2004, he was selected to direct part of ABC Television's Cultural Diversity Showcase. His recent film "White Rabbit" was chosen as a Top 10 film at the Asian American Film Lab in 2009 and was nominated for Best Direction and Best Editing.

A born and raised Jersey girl, Daryn Strauss grew up amongst a household of musicians. As a teen, she performed with the New Jersey Ballet Company and sang with Barry Manilow and Jose Carreras at Radio City Music Hall. She has been the lead or co-star in the indie features Waiting in Woodsbury and Tech Room, several shorts including White Rabbit, which was a Top 10 film at the Asian American Film Lab in 2009 and also nominated for Best Direction and Best Editing. Daryn earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism magna cum laude from Montclair State University. A writer since childhood, she studied screenwriting at UCLA and has written several screenplays which have been workshopped in New York City. She is drawn to quirky character-driven films by writer-directors. "Downsized" is her first foray as a producer combining directing, writing and acting.

A born and raised Jersey girl, Daryn Strauss grew up amongst a household of musicians. As a teen, she performed with the New Jersey Ballet Company and sang with Barry Manilow and Jose Carreras at Radio City Music Hall. She has been the lead or co-star in the indie features Waiting in Woodsbury and Tech Room, several shorts including White Rabbit, which was a Top 10 film at the Asian American Film Lab in 2009 and also nominated for Best Direction and Best Editing. Daryn earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism magna cum laude from Montclair State University. A writer since childhood, she studied screenwriting at UCLA and has written several screenplays which have been workshopped in New York City. She is drawn to quirky character-driven films by writer-directors. "Downsized" is her first foray as a producer combining directing, writing and acting.

She recently had a screenplay optioned by Capstone Entertainment Group and is about to go into a production for a short she co-wrote for French film company Libero Films. She is currently working on a feature for Devi Entertainment and continuing to write and develop her other projects. She was also recently cast in Downcity currently in preproduction with Gary Oldman and Terrence Howard.

At the Old Globe in San Diego, he worked with Arthur Miller in his penultimate play Resurrection Blues in the role of Skip L. Cheeseboro. A born and raised Jersey girl, Daryn Strauss grew up amongst a household of musicians. As a teen, she performed with the New Jersey Ballet Company and sang with Barry Manilow and Jose Carreras at Radio City Music Hall. She has been the lead or co-star in the indie features Waiting in Woodsbury and Tech Room, several shorts including White Rabbit, which was a Top 10 film at the Asian American Film Lab in 2009 and also nominated for Best Direction and Best Editing. Daryn earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism magna cum laude from Montclair State University. A writer since childhood, she studied screenwriting at UCLA and has written several screenplays which have been workshopped in New York City. She is drawn to quirky character-driven films by writer-directors. "Downsized" is her first foray as a producer combining directing, writing and acting.

Watched the first episode of this. It looks like it could be good, I just don't want the entire series to be so sad. I will keep watching to see if it gets a little happier.
