Production Notes

"Tranquility Dome" is an animated web series about a detective on the moon. A new, high frontier has opened up with migration via space elevator to new lunar colonies at the lunar poles and in the maria or seas. This frontier economy is rejuvenating earth by taking its excess population and developing new industries in Lunar Solar Power, Helium 3 fusion power, Lunar Oxygen Fueling stations, Lunar Tourism, and as a stepping stone to Space Colonies, Mars and beyond.

The series, a companion piece to the feature documentary "Gaia Selene - Saving Earth by Colonizing the Moon", is being produced using commercial off-the-shelf software of Bryce, Poser and Final Cut Studio. These low-cost programs enable the audience to participate though the website, http:mooncolony.tv by creating backgrounds, animations and characters. It's designed to be an open source series that explores the challenges of the near future.

The documentary "Gaia Selene - Saving the Earth by Colonizing the Moon" shows the science and engineering for colonizing the New Frontier. It is available on Amazon and Amazon Unbox.

Different, very different approach.

I'm a big fan of science fiction but I had a hard time finding anything enjoyable in this. I can forgive the previs style animation. Unfortunately, the story is a bit boring and the narrator's voice doesn't help. I give props for effort but I can't recommend based on the execution.

Genius, this is great stuff hope someone produces it!

Love the story but this looks like a pre-vis. It wouldn't take much to make this a really decent piece to look at. Very hard to watch...but great world and a very intriguing story. Would be very interested in seeing it acted which would free up the production designers to focus on the backgrounds and not worry about the character animation. You should just grab a couple of extra guys to help you out.

But who the fuck am I to say anything?

Peace.

I found the story quite compelling. Not drawn to science fiction, I was hooked from the start. Let's see how the young cuttie fits into next episode

Cool! I wonder if you could dim the texture maps a bit for the insides of the characters' mouths. Without radiosity, the teeth look like they're glowing.
